CREATING CORPORATE CARBON CREDITS FROM RAIL  Where an organisation changes their freight from road or other carbon intensive transport modes to rail,
the carbon credit savings will reduce their organisation's carbon footprint.Similarly, an organisation can provide their employees with passenger rail transport as an alternative to using road vehicles to achieve a lower carbon footprint. While carbon does not have a cost attached to it currently via a cap and trade mechanism, carbon reductions can be applied to reduce an organisation's Greenhouse Gas audit total as an early action response to Global Warming with the benefits of enhancing their environemntal reputation and acquiring knowledge on this emerging activity. QR Limited, as part of their GORAIL Program, are currently applying for Abatement Accreditation for Rail with the Australian Greenhouse Office.
